There are 100s of wheelchairs available on the market – and we’ve looked at many of them! We have decided to offer just one model – the Rehasense Icon 35 (both BX basic & LX luxury) – as we believe it ticks many boxes; ease of use, foldability, ultra lightweight, compact and reasonably priced.
The Icon 35 is a high quality, modern wheelchair packed with many useful features – suitable for use indoors and outdoors. Fitted with a built in carry handle – its compact design makes it easy to take in and out of any vehicle. Both models have detachable swing away leg rests, lockable handbrakes and a half folding back for compact storage. The chair width measures 27cm when folded.
The Icon 35 is one of the lightest aluminium wheelchairs currently on the market. The BX model weighs 8.2 kilos and the LX model 9.0 kilos. The LX comes with long height adjustable armrests and a padded ergonomic seat and backrest to ensure maximum comfort while sitting in the chair.
